    Tick tock tick tock

    You’re running away

    Where?

To the past – a jumble of figures

    A space of bygone adventures

Time – a cloud of moments

    Dissolved into incorporeal substance

    Of people, things and ideas

    Tick tock tick tock

    You’re fading away

    Where?

Into a green thicket of foliage?

    A cavernous mine of gold?

Into the magma of the earth’s crust?

Time – a mist of phenomena

    A whirlpool

    Of black, white and sepia

    Tick tock tick tock

    You’re speeding away

    Where?

On a road that never ends

A path of delicate twists and curves

A vivid scarf from an infinite ball of yarn

    Time – a vortex

    Of trial, error and victory

    Tick tock tick tock

    You’re sliding away

    Where?

Out of my grasp – into the deep end

    Springing into a future unknown

    Time – a tidal wave

    Like a Peregrine Falcon – a rush

    Of feelings, impressions and change

    Tick tock tick tock

    You’re drifting away

    Where?

Upon a raft floating in a panorama

    Bobbing in the background

In the back pockets of my brain

Time – a string of memoirs

Like a trek off the beaten track

    Of life, laughter and love

A flawless presentation of beautiful words that hit the gut and steal the breath away.  There is texture, color, movement, and balance.  Your vocabulary is rich and clever (and continues to prompt me to pull out a dictionary and check up unfamiliar terms).  I love intelligent literary works and yours is definitely one of them.

I know I’ve said this before, but I really need a collection of your poems in print.  Alongside art.  Like a poem on one side of the page and a painting on the other.  I just can’t help it.  Your poems and art do a thing on my brain.  I can’t keep them back from pairing up and ‘messing’ with my mind:)

FF, you’ve got me thinking about this marvellous idea. I’m definitely considering it 🙂
