Hi! Just wondering how hard it is to get a job as an editor. I’m not a published writer, but I do have a very good eye for critiquing and I think it’s something I would enjoy. Is it a well-paying job? How hard is it? I don’t need to work for a major magazine, obviously, just wondering what the whole thing entails. Thanks!
i think Suri Brand used to teach a copyediting course. does she still do that? one thing i know–and i’m not an editor so just giving mt 2 cents here!, is that there’s a lot of people who think they have a great eye for proofreading but to work for a company you need more than a “chush”. feldheim used to have a proofreading test that if you passed they would send work your way. apparently it was NOT EASY!!! btw i don’t have contact info for Suri Brand but i know she started a publishing company, something like Name Brand Press or something so if you want you could google and ask her about a course if it still exists.
