Hi all! So I here’s some comic relief for you all. Writing humor is not my strong point, but I tried and hope it’s somewhat funny and not corny! Can’t wait to hear from you 🙂
So I’ve been a little bored… no – change that to very bored and feeling low.. I try calling some people, texting them, but I guess they’re busy…
Fast-forward 20 minutes: The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting the same results. So, I decided to open my book and continue it. Good, no? I’m reading it, enjoying and loving the intensity, conflict and raw emotions – definitely up my alley! But then… I’m jolted, and my attention is cut off by a loud, rude noise. I feel a bit repulsed, but I look at the number on my screen. I don’t recognize, but I still pick it up – because, hey! – I’ve got some company. I press the “talk” button and say “hello.” I hear someone talking about my car warranty (which I don’t own, but okay) that’s about to expire. I hang up the phone and just laugh! I definitely didn’t expect to get a call from a telemarketer, but, hey – I did get a call. I laugh at my excitement… from a telemarketer… I laugh out loud – inwardly and outwardly – because it is funny. Out of all people, look who came to my rescue and who kept me “company” for a mere 5 seconds? And I had this experience more than once, so I can laugh about it. I laugh each time I think about it. Maybe I’ll even try to start a conversation about why, my non-existent car’s warranty is up. Stay tuned! 😅
Omg, @passionforwriting, I LOVED this! I love how Hashem sent you a telemarketer and you were able to see the humor in that situation, because hey! Life is about the little things, right? And I’m so glad you posted this to all your friends on Masterpiece, because this was truly adorable. Thank goodness for car warranties, right? 😂
What I love so much about this is your ability to see/find humor in this! What I love about Masterpiece so much besides all the wonderful ideas and reading is that it actually makes me think. Thank You PassionforWriting. Thank you Riva. Thank you fellow Masterpiecers!
