HandsThese hands of mineAre bubby’s handsWhen did theyGrow so old? When once They were so youthfulChildish, even?Where did the time goSince youth was realAnd real life a dream? These years have gone so fastI want to hold tightTo youthBut it slips so fastThrough stiffened fingersThese hands have heldNew babies closeGrasping little fingers tightThese hands have reachedTo steady little feetThese hands have heldMy tears my fears my aspirationsThe chossons suit, the kallahs gown…These hands they nowAre bubby’s handsWith wrinkles soft enoughTo hold each little handIn mine.
